Laboratory Specialist - Confocal Microscopist

Confocal Microscopist and Facilities Manager. Provide primary oversight, training, and maintenance for confocal microscopy facilities. Provide expert assistance with protocol development and execution for faculty and student research programs involving confocal microscopy and image analysis. Provide assistance and training for graduate and undergraduate students working with microscopy-based research projects. Required Qualifications: Bachelor of Science degree, or equivalent; fulltime job experience with confocal microscopy; Experience with biological specimen preparative techniques; Demonstrated laboratory management skills. Preferred Qualifications M.S. or Ph.D., or equivalent; Experience with biological specimen preparative techniques for a variety of cell and tissue types, including resin embedding and sectioning, or a willingness to be trained in these techniques; Experience with 2-photon microscopy; Experience presenting/teaching on microscopy theory and techniques; SEM/TEM experience, particularly with regard to biological specimen imaging.
