Guilin University of Electronic Technology (GUET) is one of the four universities focusing on electronic technology in China. II. Job Description and Conditions of Service for the Recruitment of Overseas Academics for GUET

1. Talents Level: The first level

(1) Qualifications:

• Academicians, from prestigious overseas academic institutions;
• Other scholars, who have considerably significant influence as the first-level talents, assessed by the university experts.

(2) Conditions of Service:

Negotiable

 

2. Talents Level: The second level

(1) Qualifications:

• Tenured professors, from renowned overseas universities or institutions.
• Other scholars, who have significant influence as the second-level talents as assessed by the university experts.

(2) Conditions of Service:

• A settling-in allowance of not less than 2,000,000 RMB (before tax).
• Initial funding for research of not less than 1,000,000 RMB for science and engineering disciplines or not less than 400,000 RMB for humanities and social sciences disciplines.
• Funding for the creation of a scientific research platform of not less than 5,000,000 RMB for science and engineering disciplines or not less than 500,000 RMB for humanities and social sciences disciplines. Determined by the nature of the proposed research projects.
• Assistance in establishing scientific research groups.
• Housing will be provided in keeping with the relevant government rules on housing. Either a campus house will be offered for purchase at a moderated price or rent-free accommodation in a campus house with a 500,000 RMB house purchase subsidy (before tax).
• An annual salary of not less than 800,000 RMB (before tax). The benefits are negotiable for part-time employees.

 

3. Talents Level: The third level

(1) Qualifications:

• Professors, from famous overseas universities or academic institutions);
• Other scholars, who have significant influence as third-level talents as assessed by the university experts.

(2) Conditions of Service:

• A settling-in allowance of not less than 800,000 RMB (before tax).
• Initial funding for research of not less than 600,000 RMB for science and engineering disciplines or not less than 300,000 RMB for humanities and social sciences disciplines.
• Funding for the creation of a scientific research platform of not less than 1,000,000 RMB for science and engineering disciplines or not less than 300,000 RMB for humanities and social sciences disciplines. Determined by the nature of the proposed research projects.
• Assistance in establishing scientific research groups.
• Housing will be provided in keeping with the relevant government rules on housing. Either a campus house will be offered for purchase at a moderated price or a 400,000 RMB house purchase subsidy will be offered to purchase an off-campus house. A campus house will be provided for renting if academics will not purchase a house.
• An annual salary of not less than 300,000 RMB (before tax). Benefits part-time employees are negotiable.

 

4. Talents Level: The fourth level

(1) Qualifications:

• Talents; PhDs holders who have obtained their doctorate from famous overseas universities, with three-year or above research experience abroad;
• Other talents have obtained PhDs at home, with five-year or above research and teaching experience abroad, who are top talents and prospect leading scholars with great potentials in research.

(2) Conditions of Service:

• A settling-in allowance of not less than 400,000 RMB (before tax).
• Initial funding for research of not less than 300,000 RMB for science and engineering disciplines or not less than 150,000 RMB for humanities and social sciences disciplines.
• Funding for the creation of a scientific research platform of not less than 500,000 RMB for science and engineering disciplines or not less than 150,000 RMB for humanities and social sciences disciplines. Determined by the nature of the proposed research projects.
• Housing will be provided in keeping with the relevant government rules on housing. Either a campus house will be offered for purchase at a moderated price or a 300,000 RMB house purchase subsidy will be offered to purchase an off-campus house. A campus house will be provided for renting if academics will not purchase a house.
• An annual salary of not less than 200,000 RMB (before tax). The benefits are negotiable for part-time employees.

 

5. Talents Level: The fifth level

(1) Qualifications:

• Talents; have obtained PhDs from famous overseas universities, with one-year or above research experience abroad;
• Other talents have obtained PhDs at home, with three-year or above research and teaching experience abroad, who are of high-level research capability.

(2) Conditions of Service:

• A settling-in allowance of not less than 100,000 RMB (before tax).
• Initial funding for research of not less than 150,000 RMB for science and engineering disciplines or not less than 80,000 RMB for humanities and social sciences disciplines.
• Funding for the creation of a scientific research platform of not less than 150,000 RMB for science and engineering disciplines or not less than 50,000 RMB for humanities and social sciences disciplines. It depends on the situation.
• Housing will be provided in keeping with the relevant government rules on housing. Either a campus house will be offered for purchase at a moderated price or a 200,000 RMB house purchase subsidy will be offered to purchase an off-campus house. A campus house will be provided for renting if academics will not purchase a house.

 

6. Talents Level: The sixth level

(1) Qualifications:

Talents; are fresh graduates who have obtained PhDs from famous overseas universities.

(2) Conditions of Service:

• A settling-in allowance of not less than 250,000 RMB (before tax).
• Initial funding for research of not less than 150,000 RMB for science and engineering disciplines or not less than 100,000 RMB for humanities and social sciences disciplines.
• Housing will be provided in keeping with the relevant government rules on housing. A campus house will be provided for renting at a moderated price.

 

The University will also provide support to help the families of staff recruited to GUET to settle in.

1. Spouses: the University will where possible arrange for the employment of spouses, based on their qualifications and experience. If there are no suitable vacant jobs in the University, spouses of fourth-level or above academics will be offered one-off ex-gratia living subsidy, ranging from 100,000 to 200,000 RMB (before tax). GUET will not normally arrange jobs for spouses who are already employed in the urban area of Guilin.

2. Children: in accordance with the Nearby Enrollment Policy, the University will help those children of scholars who are of compulsory school attendance age, to enroll in local schools.

Talents, who intend to work full-time in university, have obtained their doctorate from either famous overseas universities or renowned domestic universities with two-year or above research experience abroad. The age is generally less than 45 years old, but it can be extended to 50 years old for outstanding talents.
3. Benefits
3.1 Talents Enrolled in “One Hundred Talents Program”
(1) One-off ex-gratia funding of 500,000 RMB for science and engineering disciplines or 300,000 RMB for humanities and social sciences disciplines, given by Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, is used for scientific and technological innovation, research start-up and living conditions improvement;
(2) The same funding as Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region giving in research platform funding will be offered by the University;
(3) A settling-in allowance of not less than 100,000 RMB will be provided by The University;
(4) Housing will be provided. Either a campus house, not less than 110 square meters will be offered for purchase at a moderated price or a 200,000 RMB house purchase subsidy will be offered to purchase an off-campus house in Guilin.

3.3 Overseas doctorate academics are eligible to apply for senior professional and technical qualifications.

Recruitment of Project Associate Research Fellows at Guilin University of Electronic Technology

1. Requirements
(1) Academics are generally less than 35 years old. 
(2) Doctorate academics graduated from famous domestic or overseas universities.

3. Contract Periods
Two or three years.
4. Tasks
