The Higuchi Bioscience Center at the University of Kansas invites qualified candidates to submit applications for the position of Postdoctoral Researcher — Single-Molecule.

The selected applicant will work in the laboratory of Prof. Holmstrom where state-of-the-art single-molecule fluorescence techniques are used to study regulatory RNA-protein interactions. This multi-disciplinary research environment utilizes concepts from molecular biology, chemistry, physics, and computer science in order to observe and measure the conformational dimensions and dynamics of individual biomolecules using, for example, Forster Resonance Energy Transfer (FRET). The selected applicant will also help construct a single-molecule microfluidic mixing device that will be used to rapidly adjust the experimental solution conditions, enabling perturbative non-equilibrium studies of these regulatory RNA-protein interactions.
