Research Positions
Several research faculty and postdoctoral positions are available immediately in the laboratory of Dr. Hongyu Qiu at the Center for Molecular and Translational Medicine, Georgia State University at Atlanta. Dr. Qiu’s laboratory and the laboratories of this center are well funded by grants from NIH, AHA, and ADA. The centers' laboratories are extremely well equipped and have highly frequent publications in highly impacted journals including Nature Medicine, JCI, Circulation, Circulation Research, etc. The research projects in the laboratories of this center focus on the molecular mechanisms and signal transduction in cardiovascular diseases, aging, metabolic syndrome, obesity, diabetes, and cancer. A wide range of approaches from molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology, to mouse genetic strategies is employed to tackle these problems important for human health. The candidates must have a strong background in biochemistry and cell/molecular biology and a strong interest in research, good communication skills, and the ability to work independently. Prior experience working with animals is a plus. Postdoc positions have an annual salary of ≥ $47,467 plus excellent benefits. Research faculty’s salary are highly competitive and negotiable, depending upon the applicant’s qualifications. Both postdoc position and research faculty positions are available immediately.
