Assistant Professor Positions in Pharmacology and Chemical Biology

The Department of Pharmacology and Chemical Biology at the Emory University School of Medicine invites applications for tenure-track Assistant Professor positions. Applicants for other ranks will also be considered. Beginning immediately, we seek investigators who will develop independent and vigorous research programs in any area of chemical biology, including chemical biology of human diseases, such as neurodegeneration and cancer. Applicants with research programs that center on biological questions or medicinal chemistry are both welcome to apply.

The successful candidates will join a vibrant, collegial and multidisciplinary basic research department with extensive scientific connectivity with the Department of Chemistry at the Emory College and basic and clinical departments across the School of Medicine.  New faculty will have immediate access to powerful research infrastructures and core facilities, including the Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases, Winship Cancer Institute, and the well-recognized Emory Chemical Biology Discovery Center with state-of-the-art high-throughput screening capabilities, as well as a top-ranked graduate training program in pharmacology. The Department of Pharmacology and Chemical Biology at Emory is experiencing another phase of growth with the strong commitment of the leadership of the Woodruff Health Science Center and the School of Medicine, who share a focused vision for chemistry-enabled discovery, therapeutic innovation and translational biology.

Candidates must have a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent degree in a relevant field of study, postdoctoral experience, and a demonstrated record of research excellence. Applicants should submit (i) a cover letter, (ii) a curriculum vitae, (iii) a brief statement of past research accomplishments, future research interests and goals, and teaching interest (<3 pages), and (iv) names and contact information for three references, in one pdf file to the Emory Chemical Biology Search Committee, c/o Tanisha Haynes (pharm-chembio@emory.edu). Applicants should also arrange for three letters of reference to be sent directly to the above e-mail address. Consideration of applications for interviews will begin by March 5, 2019
