The Greehey Children's Cancer Research Institute (GCCRI)  at  UT  Health  San Antonio (UTHSA), Joe R. and Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine, is seeking an outstanding candidate (Ph.D., M.D., or M.D/ Ph.D.) at Full Professor rank to be Associate Director for Research. Applicants must have high quality peer-reviewed publications and evidence of an established independent  research  program  focused on pediatric cancer,  drug  discovery/development,  and  have  competitive  funding. The position offers significant scientific  resources,  attractive  start-up  support,  and  the potential for competing for additional state  funds. The  successful  applicant  will join a multidisciplinary team of researchers at the GCCRI and will be expected to develop and lead collaborative programs and serve as a mentor for students and research fellows, and faculty. The successful candidate will work closely with the Director to set future research strategy, recruitment, evaluate progress, and assist in fund raising.

The Greehey Children's Cancer Research Institute is a unique specialized cancer research center focusing  on basic  and  translational  research  in childhood  cancer.  It is housed in a state- of-the-art 100,000 sq. foot research facility on the Greehey Academic and Research Campus of UTHSA and supported  by an endowment  from  the tobacco  settlement  from the State  of Texas  [http://ccri.uthscsa.edu].
