Department of Pathology and Cell Biology

Position Details: The Department of Pathology and Cell Biology, within the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine, is seeking applicants for a full-time, tenured or non-tenure track, Open Rank faculty position with a specialization in cardiovascular research.  This position will be academically appointed to the Department of Pathology and Cell Biology but will work within the USF Health Heart Institute.  Opening in 2019 in downtown Tampa, the USF Health Heart Institute is a modern research facility for groundbreaking translational research that will take new discoveries from bench to bedside.  Within four floors totaling 100,000 square feet, the USF Health Heart Institute will be dedicated to cardiovascular and related research, including clinical trials targeting new ways to manage, prevent and cure cardiovascular disease. 

Applications will be considered from PhD, MD, and MD/PhD candidates with at least one current National Institute of Health RO1 grant within the field of cardiovascular research.  The primary duties of this position will be research-related, including performing basic and translational research related to heart disease, publishing in major peer-reviewed journals and maintaining NIH and other grant funding.  Administrative duties may include serving on Institute, College or University committees and councils. 

Academic rank and salary are dependent on qualifications and experience.  Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.
