The Yu lab in the Department of Pharmacology at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine is looking for a highly motivated and skilled researcher with significant experience working with eukaryotic protein expression systems. The Postdoctoral Scholar will use a variety of biophysical/biochemical techniques to elucidate the molecular mechanisms of eukaryotic membrane transporters.
Our lab has extensive experience determining the structure/functions of multidrug efflux pumps that mediate antimicrobial resistance in bacterial pathogens (Long et al., 2010, Nature; Su et al., 2011, Nature; Bolla et al., 2015, Nature Commun.; Su et al., 2015, Cell Rep.; Kumar et al., 2017, PNAS; Su et al., 2017 Nature Commun.) and is looking to expand our research to include eukaryotic membrane transporters. Please find additional information about our research group and our outstanding research environment in the Case Western Department of Pharmacology website (http://pharmacology.case.edu/department/Faculty/Primary/Default.aspx).
Qualified applicants must have a PhD or MD/PhD degree; strong written, oral communication, and critical thinking skills are required. As a Postdoctoral Scholar, he/she will present data at departmental seminars, prepare manuscripts, and contribute preliminary data for grant proposals. Preference will be given to applicants with a recognized record of accomplishment as evidenced by scholarly publications. Send inquiries containing a cover letter, CV with list of publications and contact information to Dr. Edward Yu (ewy5@case.edu) and Dr. Phil Klenotic (pxk258@case.edu).
