A NIH-funded Postdoctoral Associate position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Troy Bankhead in the Department of Veterinary Microbiology and Pathology at Washington State University. The successful applicant will join a multidisciplinary laboratory using state-of-the-art technologies to study mechanisms of immune evasion and host-pathogen interactions by the causative agent of Lyme disease. The appointee will be part of a strong interdisciplinary group of investigators engaged in research on pathogens that cause significant disease in humans and animals, including those with potential for transmission at the human-animal interface. Additionally, close partnerships with scientists in the USDA-ARS unit housed within the department offer numerous opportunities for collaboration.

Specific expertise in bacterial pathogenesis, mouse models of infection, and immunology is preferred but not required. Interested candidates should submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, and contact information of three references at https://www.wsujobs.com/postings/42883.
