The OSUCCC – James is the only cancer program in the United States that features a National Cancer Institute (NCI)-designated comprehensive cancer center aligned with a nationally ranked academic medical center and a freestanding cancer hospital on the campus of one of the nation’s largest public universities.

The Burd Lab is recruiting postdoctoral researchers and senior researchers to study the role of T-cell aging in anti-viral and immunotherapeutic responses. We are a translational research lab using genetic, biochemical, cellular and mouse modelling approaches to address questions bridging the areas of cancer and aging (Burd et al, Cell 2013; Burd et al, Cancer Discov 2014; Rosko et al, BMT 2015; Guan et al, Mol Cancer Res 2017). The available project uses clinical specimens, innovative murine imaging systems and genetic engineering to identify mechanisms by which immunotherapeutic failure and toxicity could be mitigated.

Applicant Requirements

Postdoctoral Researchers should be independently motivated, critical thinkers with a recent PhD or MD/PhD. A continuous record of scientific achievement in the fields of immunological aging, T-cell biology/development, anti-viral immune responses, tumor immunity or mouse models is required.

Senior Researchers must have >5 years of experience in T-cell immunology and mouse modelling, be highly organized and exhibit exceptional written and verbal English communication skills. Ideal applicants will have extensive training in multicolor flow cytometry, primary T-cell culture, mouse models and experimental design.

This position is located in the NCI-designated James Comprehensive Cancer Center (OSUCCC) at The Ohio State University in Columbus, OH.
