Post-doctoral researcher in Endovascular Microtechnologies KTH Royal Institute of Technology

KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm has grown to become one of Europe’s leading technical and engineering universities, as well as a key centre of intellectual talent and innovation. We are Sweden’s largest technical research and learning institution and home to students, researchers and faculty from around the world. Our research and education covers a wide area including natural sciences and all branches of engineering, as well as architecture, industrial management, urban planning, history and philosophy.

The recently started research centre MedTechLabs is a collaboration between KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Karolinska Institutet (KI), and Stockholm County Council (SLL). It aims to generate world-leading, demand-driven research in medical technology that can provide better health care for the county's inhabitants as well as cost-efficient solutions for health care delivery. This includes providing more efficient and patient-proof diagnostics, therapy and management. Therefore, the focus is primarily on research that is likely to be applicable in a clinical environment within an estimated five-year period. Another aim is to convey and create the conditions for implementing acquired knowledge so that new clinical methods can be spread nationally. Reaching these aims involves a commitment to process-oriented healthcare through cross-disciplinary teamwork in technology and medicine in the Stockholm region. The centre will therefore be located in the BioClinicum in Karolinska University Hospital. Researchers from KI and KTH will work together to develop technology and methods that can be implemented in a clinical setting. For more information about MedTechLabs, see https://www.medtechlabs.se
