The Wistar Institute is seeking outstanding candidates for a faculty position in tumor immunology.  Applicants qualified for an Associate or full Professor appointment who have a proven track record and currently active independent research support by extramural funding will be considered. The successful candidate will be expected to pursue an extramurally-funded competitive research program with a primary focus on basic and/or translational tumor immunology. Candidates with interests in all aspects of tumor immunology are welcome but those with focus on myeloid cell biology and/or an interest in melanoma or ovarian cancer research are especially encouraged to apply. 

The Wistar Institute is the nation’s first independent biomedical research Institute with long-standing NCI Cancer Center designation. It has a strong technology transfer focus in biomedical research and ranks fifth in the nation for royalties from intellectual property. The Wistar Institute offers highly competitive start-up support, salary and fringe benefits in addition to an outstanding and interactive research environment. Faculty will be recruited to space in a newly-constructed research tower with a state-of-the-art vivarium and outstanding core facilities in proteomics and metabolomics, genomics, microscopy, high-throughput molecular screening, bioinformatics, flow cytometry, and others. The Institute’s location adjacent to the campuses of the University of Pennsylvania, Drexel University, and the University of the Sciences provides for vigorous academic and clinical collaborations, as well as attractive training opportunities for graduate students and postdoctoral fellows.
