Faculty Position in Cell and Molecular Biology
Qualified candidates are invited to apply for the position of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor in the Department of Cell Biology and Neuroscience of Rowan University’s Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences and School of Osteopathic Medicine, (formerly part of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, UMDNJ). We seek a cell/molecular biologist whose work and techniques complement existing strengths in the department. The department currently hosts expertise in protein structure and function, the regulation of gene expression and epigenetics, the development and application of novel technology to in vivo models of disease and development, and the analysis of behavior in response to genetic and pharmacological intervention in complex model systems. Individuals whose research focuses on the nervous system are especially encouraged to apply. . Applicants seeking the Assistant Professor position should have a Ph.D., MD/Ph.D. or equivalent in one of the biomedical sciences with a record of accomplishment in research and evidence of potential to develop and maintain a funded research program that complements areas of expertise within the Department of Cell Biology and Neuroscience. Those candidates seeking an Associate Professor/ Full Professor position should have an established research program and a history of extramural funding. The successful candidate will join a productive and highly collaborative faculty and will participate in graduate and medical education. Salary, start-up funds, and other considerations will be commensurate with experience and consistent with a commitment to recruit, support, and retain exceptional individuals. The Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine and the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences are located in Stratford, NJ; 8 miles from Philadelphia, 1 hour from the Atlantic Ocean, and 2 hours from New York City. The Department of Cell Biology and Neuroscience is housed in a modern, fully equipped research building. The department is expanding its emphasis on neuroscience in conjunction with the graduate school and across Rowan University, encompassing clinical, translational and basic science investigations.
