A Postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Peter Sims at Columbia University Medical Center in the Dept. of Systems Biology. The Sims Lab develops and applies new tools for genome- and transcriptome-wide analysis of individual cells using cutting-edge microscopy, microfabrication, and next-generation sequencing. We recently reported a new technique for linking live cell imaging and single-cell RNA-seq on a large-scale and have a postdoctoral position available for developing new applications of this technology. We are located in the Lasker Biomedical Research Building, a newly renovated, highly collaborative, and interdisciplinary research environment on Columbia’s medical campus in New York City.
Candidates must be highly motivated Ph.D.-level scientists. Backgrounds in biology, chemistry, engineering, and/or physics are all welcome. Expertise or experience in next-generation sequencing, computational biology, bioinformatics, microscopy, and/or microfluidics is highly desirable. If you are interested, please email Dr. Sims directly and include a CV.
