The Department of Biomedical Sciences, Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine, Marshall University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the level of ASSISTANT or ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR. Minimum requirements include a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent degree in the biomedical sciences or a related field, at least two years of postdoctoral experience, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Preference will be given to applicants with current extramural funding. Area of research is open, but we are particularly interested in applicants whose interests complement existing areas of strength in neuroscience, anatomy, cardiovascular disease and obesity, and toxicology.

The successful candidate will be expected to establish and maintain an active, externally funded research program, teach histology to preclinical medical students in an integrated, organ system-based curriculum, participate in the interdisciplinary Biomedical Research graduate program, and contribute to the service activities of the department.  This will be a full-time academic appointment in the Department of Biomedical Sciences, with a competitive startup package, and a salary commensurate with rank, qualifications, and experience.
