The Aird Lab at Penn State College of Medicine is looking to expand our research team.

Multiple Postdoctoral Fellow positions are immediately available for highly motivated and productive applicants in the laboratory of Dr. Katherine Aird. Projects will focus on the lab’s central theme of metabolism and senescence in cancer. In addition, a specific opportunity for a fellow interested in collaboration across labs is available, with training in liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry and isotopic tracing analysis working with Dr. Nathaniel Snyder at Drexel University.

Projects include:

1) Follow-up on our recent discovery on regulation of nucleotide metabolism by the ATR-mTORC1 axis (doi.org/10.1101/393876).

2) Investigation of peroxisomal and lysosomal metabolism in ovarian cancer progression.

Essential Qualifications:

Recent recipients of PhD or MD/PhD (or equivalent) degree or close to obtaining a doctoral degree.  A strong publication history is essential.  Necessary research skills include standard molecular and cellular biology techniques.  In addition, candidates should have outstanding critical thinking and problem-solving skills and excellent written and oral skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior experience in mouse models, especially cancer-related, is preferred.
