Faculty Positions in the Department of Biological Sciences
The University of Texas at Dallas

The Department of Biological Sciences in the School of Natural Sciences and Mathematics at The University of Texas at Dallas (https://www.utdallas.edu/biology/) invites applications for multiple faculty positions. Our preference is for applications at the Assistant Professor level, but we will also consider applicants at the Associate or Full Professor level.

We seek to hire outstanding scientists using leading-edge experimental and computational approaches to address research questions that complement and expand existing departmental strengths. While all of the biological sciences will be considered, we are especially interested to recruit faculty working in the following interconnected areas:

Cancer Biology
A basic or translational cancer biologist with interests in, for example, the tumor microenvironment, microbiome, cancer genomics, metabolism, treatment resistance, stem cell biology, or immunology.

Investigators in the specific areas of neuroimmunology, innate immunity, inflammation, metabolism and aging are particularly encouraged to apply.

Preferably with a focus on functional studies of the host-associated or environmental microbiome and/or microbial genomics.

Specific areas of interest include the molecular mechanisms of plasticity, neurodegeneration, and pain.

Campus core facilities in genomics, imaging and histology, flow cytometry, microfabrication, and protein analysis will support the research of new recruits. UT Dallas is a research-intensive (R1) university with a diverse population of high-achieving students enrolled in Bachelors, Masters, and Doctoral programs. We value collegiality, collaborative research, and faculty who are enthusiastic about integrating their research with innovative teaching approaches for biology and pre-health professional students.

Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the positions are filled. Indication of sex and ethnicity for affirmative action statistical purposes is requested as part of the application but is not required. Application materials (curriculum vitae, short descriptions of research plans and teaching interests, and contact information for three references) should be submitted online http://jobs.utdallas.edu/postings/11307
