The Krembil Research Institute at the University Health Network in Toronto Canada is seeking an early to mid career basic scientist in the area of neuroinflammation. Preference will be given to individuals with a research focus on the involvement of innate immunity, including the roles of immune mediators such as microglia and astrocytes, and their expressed cytokines and chemokines, in neurodegenerative diseases affecting the human CNS. The successful candidate will have a PhD or MD/PhD, postdoctoral experience and demonstrated research excellence. The successful candidate will be expected to qualify for an appointment at the Assistant or Associate Professor level (status only) in the appropriate department at the University of Toronto.
The Krembil is one the principal research institutes of the University Health Network of academic teaching hospitals associated with the University of Toronto; the Krembil is also one of the largest research institutes in Canada focusing on human neurological disease from both a basic science and clinical research perspective. The University Health Network (UHN) is Canada's largest academic medical centre, comprising four major teaching hospitals.
• Ph.D. in specialized discipline or advanced degree and 5 years closely related experience
