Open Rank Faculty Positions Available (Starting date: September 1, 2017)

Rutgers, School of Health Professions (SHP) Department of Health Informatics invites applications for two open rank full-time faculty positions. Applicants must have: (1) a minimum of a PhD degree in Life Science/Health/Biomedical Informatics, or in a closely related field (2) a commitment to teaching at the graduate level, (3) a record of research or scholarly accomplishments that demonstrate subject matter expertise and knowledge, and (4) legal authorization to work in the United States.

Preference will be given to the candidate who demonstrates his/her ability in areas of Biomedical/Clinical Informatics along with exemplary planning and organizational skills as well as good oral and written communication skills; online experience with a Learning Management System (preferable); This candidate should be a flexible team player who thrives in environments requiring ability to effectively prioritize and juggle multiple concurrent projects; unsurpassed interpersonal skills.

This position consists primarily of teaching, scholarship and service.  Under the auspices of teaching, this individual will assist the program director in the design, implementation, evaluation, and revision of curriculum and advise current students including those on their dissertation phase of study; under scholarship this individual will be involved with research or scholarly endeavors in education or biomedical informatics; and under service, will serve on university committees or allied professional organizations.  While it is expected that up to 90% of the faculty member’s effort will be teaching and other education or service related duties as assigned, 10% of the time will be made available for the faculty member to pursue their areas of scholarship.  There are minimal administrative responsibilities including admission selection of prospective students and participation in promotion and maintenance processes of the program.

Rank will be commensurate with experience.
