Engineer/ bioengineer needed to design and build the next generation of miniaturized open-source microscopes for imaging large-scale network dynamics from the brains of mobile behaving animals.  This position is funded by an NSF Neuronex Hub grant at UCLA, with up to 5 years funding available.  Experience in circuit board and electronic component design for data acquisition, optic component design, and device design and manufacturing preferred.  Also will need to be able to create and implement software components (Python or Matlab).  Please request access and visit miniscope.org to learn about our open-source miniaturized scopes.  The candidate would need to be able to redesign all components of these microscopes to create novel devices with expanded capabilities.
