Professor of Multicellular Systems Bioengineering
Professor of Multicellular
→ The Department of Biosystems Science and Engineering (www.bsse.ethz.ch) at ETH Zurich invites applications for the above-mentioned professorship. The Department is located in Basel, in the heart of the BioValley area, providing excellent opportunities for collaboration within this strong life science research community at the academic, clinical and industrial level. Its main research focus is the understanding and engineering of biological systems for medical or chemical purposes, which generates numerous opportunities for interaction. Collaborations within the newly established Personalised Health Platforms in Basel and Zurich are highly encouraged.
→ The Department is looking for an outstanding candidate experimentally working on biology and control of multicellular systems (including cultured organoids). He or she should have a strong background in molecular cell biology, genetics, tissue development and regeneration and be interested in molecular bioengineering, preferably with cells in a context of complex cell biological systems. Candidates should have been successful in obtaining support for independent research projects and a strong publication record reflecting innovative, interdisciplinary and collaborative approaches to identify and solve important problems of multicellular systems.
→ The educational goal of the Department is to teach at undergraduate and graduate level by inte- grating expertise and knowledge from biologists, chemists, physicists, engineers, computer scien- tists and mathematicians along with industrial collaborators. Undergraduate level courses are taught in German or English and graduate level courses in English.
