PhD researcher in Statistics
For the Research Centre for Operations Research and Business Statistics (ORSTAT), Leuven we are looking for a full-time PhD researcher in Statistics. The ORSTAT research center has expertise in Operations Research and Statistics. The research center covers a wide range of challenging topics in both areas. One of the statistical research areas that is studied is survival analysis (or duration analysis), which is frequently used in economics, medicine, and engineering. It deals with the analysis of time-to-event data that are often incomplete in practice, and for which adequate procedures need to be developed in order to take this incompleteness into account. The PhD project will focus on a research topic in this area.
- The candidate is expected to prepare a PhD under supervision of Prof. Dr. Ingrid Van Keilegom.
- The PhD position will be financed by an Advanced ERC grant. The research project is on semiparametric inference for complex and structural models in survival analysis.
- You are expected to participate in seminars and will occasionally be involved in teaching activities, including supervision of exams.
