Post-doctoral associate

Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position in the laboratory of Professor Dax Fu in Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. This position requires a Ph.D. degree in cell biology or related fields to characterize pancreatic beta cells using antibodies to track glucose stimulated insulin secretion. Novel antibody tracers have been developed in our lab to capture functional beta cells from whole pancreatic tissues for single cell analysis. An integrated approach of flow-cytometry, imaging, proteomics and biochemistry is used to understand the molecular etiology of diabetes at the genome and organelle levels. Experience with animal experiments, cell culture (primary islet cells and stem cells), cloning, flow cytometry, immunofluorescence imaging and bioinformatics is required. Our research projects offer exciting career opportunities at the interface of basic and translational medicine. Motivated candidates with relevant research experience and good publication track records are welcome to send CV and contact information of three references to dfu3@jhmi.edu.
