The Center for Translational Medicine (CTM) at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University is seeking qualified candidates and candidate nominations for a Tenure Track Faculty Physician-Scientist dedicated to neurodegeneration research. This position will also have clinical responsibilities and a joint appointment in the Department of Neurology.
CTM was established in 2012 and houses twelve (12) independent research labs with stat-of-the-art facilities in a new open-concept research building. The Center currently has multi-disciplinary research interests in gene and stem cell therapy, cardiac and neuronal signaling, heart failure, Alzheimer's disease and mitochondrial pathobiology with research cores supporting imaging, gene therapy/vectors, bioenergetics, and surgery/physiology. This position will complement and synergize with ongoing basic, translational and clinical research programs in the CTM and across Temple's Medical campus.
Successful candidates will hold an MD or MD/PhD degree with the ability to obtain a medical license within the commonwealth of Pennsylvania. A focus in basic science or translational research in adult-onset neurodegenerative diseases including Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, ALS or Dementia is required, as well as a strong academic record. Academic appointment is available at all levels and competitive packages will be offered based on qualifications. Candidates with current independent funding are preferred.
