Position Summary

The Materials Management Supervisor oversees a team of individual contributors and is responsible for GMP materials logistics.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring GMP compliance throughout warehouse operations
  • Maintaining a safe work environment
  • Provide expertise and leadership in supply chain management principles for inventory management and strategy through development, training, and supervision of direct reports
  • Ensure that the appropriate inventory management policies are practiced to manage and control inventory
  • Manage GMP warehouse utilization effectively, with flexibility to meet predictable peaks and downsides leveraging resources appropriately
  • Deliver goals on budget and on schedule

Qualifications

  • BA or BS in Business, Logistics Management, or Life Sciences
  • Prior experience in Materials Management, Manufacturing Production or Supply Chain Management with 3-5 years industry experience in a cGMP environment
  • Experience working in a cGMP manufacturing environment
  • Prior experience in managing a team in the distribution and logistics field.
  • Fundamental knowledge of inventory management
  • Knowledge of and proficiency in the general industry standards and practices for materials handling/control, receiving, shipping and storage
  • Ability to lead, develop, and inspire a group is required
  • Knowledge and training in chemicals handling/dispensing, good lab methods/practices, Hazmat
  • Must have working knowledge of cGMP concepts and guidelines
  • Prior experience in a biotech, pharmaceutical, or chemical-manufacturing environment required
  • Thorough knowledge of Hazmat handling and transportation regulations
  • Knowledge of ERP system or integrated inventory management software
  • Requires strong interpersonal, communication, organizational and prioritization skills
  • Successful demonstration of leadership, teamwork, problem solving, decision making and technical skills
