Position Description:

Postdoctoral positions are immediately available in the Teuscher and Krementsov labs in the Department of Medicine, University of Vermont, to work on NIH funded projects modeling gene-by-environment interactions in multiple sclerosis (MS) using a novel genetic animal model. Specifically, gene-by-environment interactions with MS environmental risk factors including the gut microbiome, VitD deficiency, UV-radiation, gamma-herpes virus (EBV); and cigarette smoke exposure are being investigated. Additional opportunities exist to study the genetics of susceptibility to influenza A virus infection.

Applicants should have recently received (or will soon receive) a doctoral degree preferably with training in immunology (cell isolation and culture, flow cytometry, and immune profiling), molecular biology, genetics and/or viral immunology. Candidates with training/experience in bioinformatics and statistical analysis as applicable to genome-wide transcriptional profiling, and 16S rRNA sequencing and phylogenic analysis (with or without a background in immunology), are particularly encouraged to apply. Interested candidate should email their CV and cover letter, and provide three references to either: C.Teuscher@med.uvm.edu or dimitry.krementsov@uvm.edu. Applications will be accepted until the positions are filled.
