Postdoctoral Position in Cardiovascular Research

An NIH-funded postdoctoral position in cardiovascular research is available immediately at the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University, Job ID 11400. Research in the Zhou laboratory is focused on vascular smooth muscle biology with an emphasis on the Hippo-YAP signaling pathway as a modulator of smooth muscle phenotype (ATVB, 2012; JBC, 2014, “paper of the week”; ATVB, 2015) and development (Circ. Res., 2014, cover article and editor’s pick). In addition, heart failure and long non-coding RNAs are emerging areas of research.

We are looking for a self-motivated candidate with a Ph.D. degree, experience in the biomedical sciences with molecular biology and histology approaches. Individuals with laboratory experience in rodent handling/experimentation and documented scholarship (first author publications in international peer reviewed journals) are especially encouraged to apply. Special consideration will be given to the candidates with expertise in bioinformatic analysis of next generation of sequencing. Salary will be commensurate with the level of experience according to NIH guidelines (minimum salary $47,476/year plus generous fringe benefit).
