Responsibilities
Responsibilities: Elanco seeks a post-doctoral fellow to conduct research in the area of Physical Activity-Related Response Assessment in Companion Animals. The candidate will perform research on statistical and computational methods, algorithms, strategies and experimental designs related to pain assessment and other therapeutic-targeted responses measured in companion animals using physical-activity based devices and biomarkers. Methodologies will be developed specifically for longitudinal studies involving automatic electronic recording accelerometers. The Fellow will be mentored by a team of senior Elanco and university statistical and veterinary scientists.

Key Leadership Responsibilities

  • Identify and utilize methods to deliver objectives in a high quality, timely, cost-efffective manner
  • Collaborate across disciplines with both internal and external academic colleagues.
Key Technical Responsibilities
  • Design and oversee the conduct of in-life animal studies in dogs and cats in laboratory and client-owned settings.
  • Collect and manage appropriate research data.
  • Develop novel statistical and computational techniques for interpretation and inference as applied to comparative veterinary clinical trials.
Basic Qualifications
  • Recent Ph.D. degree in Statistics, Biostatistics, Veterinary Science, or related field.
  • At least 1 year of experience in statistical methods research (which may include dissertation activity) as evidenced by publications in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Programming experience including SAS and R.

Additional Information
  • The position will be of two years duration with potential for a third-year appointment.
  • Travel to clinical sites will be required (10-25%).
  • This position is not permanent. It is for a fixed duration of two years with potential to extend annually for up to 4 years.
