Responsibilities
Lilly Neuroscience is seeking an associate-level scientist (Bachelors or Masters) to join the Neurodegeneration Team to facilitate its mission of discovering novel medicines for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, and other related neurodegenerative conditions. The individual must possess a keen interest to understand the pathophysiological processes that underlie neurodegenerative conditions such as Alzheimer disease and have an exceptional attention to scientific detail.

Key Objectives/Deliverables:
  1. Master several biochemical extraction techniques.
  2. Execute biochemical assays, particularly ELISA, on a daily basis
  3. Become proficient in developing/performing/problem solving multiple biochemical assay formats (ELISA and Western based)
  4. Be proficient with Excel and Softmax Pro for data analysis
  5. Perform data analysis, maintain and update notebook
  6. Interact professionally on a daily basis with multiple labs
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry, Pharmacology, or a related field
  • Minimum two years of post-degree academic or industry experience.
  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. Lilly does not anticipate providing sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B or TN status) for this employment position
Additional Skills/Preferences
  • Strong skills and significant experience in developing/ performing/problem solving biochemical analyses (ELISA/Western blotting)
  • Experience in the area of Neurodegenerative disease
  • Industry experience in assay development and drug discovery.
  • Experience in developing novel biomarker assays
  • Exceptional learning agility and attention to detail
  • Strong skills and significant experience in developing/ performing/problem solving biochemical analyses (ELISA/Western blotting).
  • The applicant will be expected to have accurate and timely record keeping and strong data analysis and organizational skills.
  • Must be able to clearly communicate data to supervisor and be able to work independently.
Additional Information
  • This position is not permanent. It is for a fixed duration of two years with potential to extend annually for up to 4 years.
