Postdoctoral Scholar in the laboratory of Todd McDevitt
Postdoctoral positions are available in the McDevitt Laboratory for Engineering Stem Cell Technologies. Our laboratory focuses on the engineering of 3D microtissues from pluripotent stem cells and development of translational strategies to deliver stem cell-secreted factors for regenerative purposes. We are seeking highly qualified individuals with interests and relevant background expertise to one or both of these topic areas.
Qualified candidates must have a Ph.D. in bioengineering or a related field and a solid track record of research productivity evidenced by multiple research publications in peer-reviewed journals. Prior experience in biomaterials, tissue engineering, stem cell culture and/or bioreactor development is strongly preferred. Previous experience with pluripotent stem cell culture, animal models, molecular biology and/or proteomics would be beneficial. In addition to strong communication skills, the ability to work independently as well as part of a team is necessary to facilitate collaborations with other laboratories at Gladstone, UCSF and UC Berkeley.
The Gladstone Institutes is an independent, not-for-profit research institution affiliated with the University of California San Francisco (UCSF), contributing to the health and well-being of all people through medical research, education, and outreach in the areas of heart disease, HIV/AIDS, and neurological disease. Gladstone is composed of three separate institutes and approximately 400 employees. Our employees receive exceptional benefits. We are located in an award-winning building adjacent to UCSF's Mission Bay Campus. Gladstone has consistently ranked as one of the top places to work in academia in the United States.
