A postdoctoral position is available in The Mirzaei Lab in the Department of Biochemistry at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. This position is made available by funding from Cancer Prevention Research Institute of Texas. This position is for one year, and reappointment beyond the first year of employment is contingent upon the availability of funding and satisfactory performance.
The successful applicant will work closely with members of Mirzaei lab, the proteomics core facility at UT Southwestern, and cancer center members pursuing high priority cancer markers. Thus, a dynamic, transdisciplinary and collaborative perspective will be highly valued. The mass spectrometry center at UTSW employs some of the most advanced instruments including QExactive plus, Orbitrap Elite, Quantiva and 6500 Qtrap which will be available to the postdoctoral trainee. This recruitment is for a project that is focused on developing SRM based biomarker assays in cancer. The position will involve tissue handling and processing, mass spectrometry and bioinformatics.
Applicants must have a PhD in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biology, or related closely field. Proven track record of successful research and publication is required. Experience in HPLC, mass spectrometry, molecular biology, and biochemistry is highly valued.
