A postdoctoral position is available in Mirzaei lab in the department of Biochemistry at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. This position is made available by funding from Welch foundation. This position is for one year, and reappointment beyond the first year of employment is contingent upon the availability of funding and satisfactory performance.

The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work with members of Mirzaei lab and proteomics core facility at UT Southwestern both led by Dr. Mirzaei. The mass spectrometry center at UTSW employs some of the most advanced instruments including QExactive plus, Orbitrap Elite, Quantiva and 6500 Qtrap which will be available to the postdoctoral trainee.  This recruitment is for a project that is focused on developing technology for identification of protein targets of small molecule drug candidates.  The position will involve tissue culture, advanced HPLC, mass spectrometry and bioinformatics.

Requirements:

Applicants must have a PhD in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biology, or related closely field.  Proven track record of successful research and publication is required.  Experience in HPLC, mass spectrometry, molecular biology, and biochemistry is highly valued.
