Assistant Professor, Medicinal Chemistry
The Department of Biomedical and Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Rhode Island invites applications for a tenure-track position in Medicinal Chemistry at the rank of Assistant Professor, with anticipated appointment in as early as Spring 2014. The successful candidate will have a research focus and strong background in medicinal chemistry. The department houses a NIH supported state-of-the-art analytical core instrument facility and NMR facility in the recently opened $75M College of Pharmacy building. Establish and maintain a sustainably-funded research program in a scientific area related to medicinal chemistry. Research areas may include, but are not limited to: organic synthesis, drug discovery, chemical genetics and chemical and synthetic biology complementary/synergistic to existing expertise in the department. Teach courses in the Doctor of Pharmacy, B.S. Pharmaceutical Sciences, and Graduate Programs. Serve on departmental, college, university and extramural committees.
